Mangi Meli Remains, 2018
Animator
Mangi Meli Remains tells the story of Chief Mangi Meli who fought against German colonial powers in Tanzania. After his execution in 1900, his skull was one of thousands of human remains collected for study. To this day, the ancestors of Mangi Meli are still searching for his remains.
This animated documentary will be part of a video and sculpture installation in Berlin and Old Moshi in Tanzania. This is a Flinn Works Production, directed by Konradin Kunze. It is a Tanzanian-German collaboration in all aspects of the project from concept and design to implementation (with a little animation help from Canada). Find more information about the project here.
